Sketchbooks for Japan
Paper Tapir is starting this as a fund for the recent disasters in Japan. I will be making sketchbooks and journals and donating the money I receive for them to the Japanese relief groups and Red Cross. (*Shipping and handling cost will go to Paper Tapir.)
These sketchbooks were designed with the artist or writer in mind. It's always been hard for me to crack into a new sketchbook, but these use standard papers that are so much less daunting, unless you want that. We can make it work! They come out sort of like this:
Grab bag extra small: 4"x5" OR LESS (10-15 pages - no size upgrade)-->$10+s/h
Small: 5"x7" (20 pages*)--> $15 +s/h
Medium: 8"x10" (40 pages*)-->$25 +s/h
Please choose your style of (I will decide on the specific color and style, requests for colors will be noted):
-Japanese chiyogami and yuzen paper (graphic or shape patterns)
-Lokta paper from Nepal (graphic pattern)
-Solid natural material paper (solid colors)
Each sketch journal will be Japanese stab-bound with linen thread, along with a small bead or charm as an embellishment. Some of these charms are new, some are antique, some I've had since last week or seven years ago from someplace. (If you have any fiber or metal allergy please let me know! I don't want you to be itchy.)
Because these are multifunctional, you can choose different types of paper!
-Standard lined notebook paper
-Pastel paper (cream)
*More pages!: $1.00 per 10 pages of regular paper and $2.00 for pastel and sketch paper.
Your book will come wrapped and in a bubble mailing envelope, within a few weeks depending.
